Dear Community Member –

As many of you know, our local movement began in 2023 when neighbors from across Grand Haven came together and decided it was time—time for a festival that celebrated Pride Month and the strength, beauty, and resilience of our 2-SLGBTQIA+ community.

What started as a grassroots celebration has now become a fully independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to providing year-round programming that educates, advocates, and celebrates.

Alongside our organization’s growth, the festival itself has flourished. In 2025, thousands of people filled the Lynne Sherwood Waterfront Stadium for a full day of music, drag performances, art, and family fun. Local businesses and nonprofits, faith communities, civic leaders and more all took part in celebrating love and inclusion. The City of Grand Haven once again officially recognized June as Pride Month and placed the word “Pride” on the city’s welcome sign—a visible message that everyone belongs here. Together, we showed that Grand Haven’s heart is open and that love always wins.

Pride Month exists to celebrate the beautiful diversity of humankind. We live in glorious variety—different shapes, colors, genders, and dreams—and Pride helps our communities rise above fear and marginalization by amplifying voices too often ignored. It reminds us that visibility saves lives, that joy is an act of resistance, and that when we come together, we build a stronger, kinder, and healthier community for everyone.

Now, as we prepare for the 2026 Grand Haven Pride Festival on Saturday, June 13, we do so with gratitude and hope.
